I know these posts are getting sporadic. Since I am a teacher I am making up for my evenings of being distracted by things to grade and spending some time with my family.
But I haven't forgotten my little blog. In fact I have three separate posts in various stages, but they simply aren't ready, or aren't good enough, for you my dear reader.
So I thought I'd toss in some pics and thoughts from the last few days.
We got back from Wyoming (see previous posts) and decided to just keep the vacation thing going a little longer by doing things that out of towners on vacation would do here.
We went to McMinneville, OR to see the Spruce Goose at the Evergreen Aviation Museum.

Isaac really loved this.
So did Jeremiah.
That was pretty cool.
Today we went fishing. Well, Brenda, Jeremiah, and I went fishing. Isaac stayed home.

It was the Special Kids' Fishing Derby this weekend at Merwin Fish Hatchery.
This event was for kids (and adults) with special needs.
They were given a pole, tackle, bait, and a volunteer to help them catch fish. There was so many fish, it was amazing. The ponds were stocked with rainbow trout, and some of them were huge (one man caught a 12.85 pound one!). They had games, and folks to weigh, measure, and clean them.
And he caught fish!
And he kept catching fish until he got one that was big enough! (It was number 11, that will fill the freezer!)
So we had fish for dinner.
(It was tasty!)

Yes, keep the "vacation" going...
because soon we'll be back in the classroom! : )
I loved seeing pictures of your family! Thank you for sharing this with us.
Take Care!
Blessings.
Good to see you post! Nice fish too! My youngest son just caught his first fish a few weekends ago. It sounds like a really nice way for someone to get introduced to fishing. Enjoy your time off. God bless you.
That sounds like a wonderful vacation.
I know Jeremiah enjoyed catching those fish.
BTW I went fishing for Fathers Day this year. It was the first time since 1964 that I had fished.
My June 18 blog was about this latest episode.
..
Ahhhh ... enjoy as much un-scheduled time as possible - it's time reflected in these photos that lasts forever.
Looks like a great dinner!
That's do just nicely for my fish-friday supper :-)
that was a very nice looking fish,:)
WOW!!! what a catch!
glad you had a good time! :)
Doing touristy things close to home is fun. We have always tried to see the sights in the places we have moved to...often finding that after a cople of years we had seen and done things that most folks born and raised there had never done...funny huh?
Nice catch!
keep fishing
Not that Spruce Goose? Howard Hughes'? Wow! Didn't that bird used to be down in Long Beach, CA near the Queen Mary?
Maybe Isaac has some flight time dreams, he looks interested, his eyes have that sparkle, as though he is thinking ahead.
I've seen a lot of fishermen, your son looks like one of the proudest, and rightly so-nice catch!
My young Israeli blogger friend, Ilan, at Little-Israel.blogspot.com, giving multiple updates on the situation from his home in Lod. Please add him and all the non-combatants on both sides to your prayers.
Thanks-Bianca
Good morning CS, and thank-you:)
Just a heads up...

Hi C.S. ~ Sounds like a good time with family. Enjoy the moments. Can't believe how big that fish was!:-)
I promise to post tomorrow. It is the anniversary of something I remember very clearly (more than 3 decades ago!).
It's amazing how many details cme up in getting ready for new flooring!
It's a lot of work but it is going to be so nice to have nbew floors, painted walls, some new light fixtures, little things repaired, replaced.
Gotta go!
His smile is precious!

hi, cs. glad to know you're having fun. that's a big fish! wow! :) nice catch. :)
It all seems pretty fishy to me.
Just popped up for air and saw you haven't posted in a while. Wanted to make sure you were okay!?
I'm sure you're just swamped like me.
Take care.
J.
Missed reading you over the last weeks.
Stopping by to say hi and that I will be back full time in about a week. Hope you are doing well.
CS, ditto what David said, except the "...back in a week." part as I am going offline in a few hours for about a month or so. Today is moving day, and I am not sure if I will be having to make a deposit for Internet at the new place. (WOO-HOO, my own kitchen again!)
As my personal work ethic precludes abusing company Internet, it may be a while before I can check in on your blog (and the others I read-I'm blessed to have found you, Little Israel, Eric the Warrior, others) so I wanted to say (oh, please pardon the pun. It just fits so very well:) "So Long (for now) and Thanks For All the Fish!
Peace be with you always, you, your family, and all of your readers. You have all been the most restorative of balms, thank-you!
Bianca
How's the projects coming along? My husband is ripping up the kitchen floor as I type:-) We've been steadily working on home repairs all year. Slow-going, but inch by inch, it's a cinch--they say.
Miss your posts. But take care and enjoy what summer you have left!
Your blog is cool. You have so much information on stop wasting time
