Dear Lord...

My Lord...
Do not listen to my bravado...
Do not let me glory in things that are small...
Like who I am and what I have done.
Do not leave me with myself,

For I am a speck of self-important dust.

My Lord...
Hear my prayers begging to serve...
Let me glory in things that are great...
Like who You are and what You have done.
Press me close to You,

For You made Yourself small to tell me I am loved.

nice.

small enough to tell us of his unfailing love without the message destroying us... taking on a physical body to do so, only to have it destroyed by us.

the classical tragedy becomes comic: 'behold i make all things new...'

merry CHRISTmas, pal.

That really ministered to me, thanks. I needed to hear that today.

"But God, being RICH IN MERCY, because of His GREAT LOVE with which He loved us, even when we were DEAD in our transgressions, made us ALIVE together with Christ (by GRACE you have been saved), and RAISED US UP with Him, and SEATED US with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the SURPASSING RICHES of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:4-7

Awesome.

I seriously doubt that GOD considers you to be a speck of self-important dust. You speak to too many to be viewed in such a manner.

I received this piece of Christian spam as soon as the last post appeared. Any thoughts folks?

I know many of you dislike spam (hence the word verification feature). Is using spam to promote a Christian message a good idea? Is it being in the world but not of the world?

Interestingly, the site that this particular spam promotes uses the word verification feature to block spam.

"Christian" spam is a bad idea. Spam is spam, and worthless.
Interesting that the site is using word verification.... "do as I say but not as I do"??

I hear your heart.

We don't mean to be full of pride and petty, but our flesh gets in the way of the spirit man. God is above our ways and thoughts and proved it in the extreme with the gift of His Son.

I'll use this prayer today, if that's all right.
