Sleepy Hollow (now western Orange), Olive (now a part of Anaheim Hills)... I moved away as a teen, and moved back a couple of times, but I just can't handle the traffic and busyness of the place anymore.

My dad raised popcorn where the 57 freeway is now. My cousins lived in Garden Grove and we too could see the spires of the castle, and the fireworks each night.

I still have family there.

But in my memory the Orange County I see is the one pictured above.Curious Servanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11564580536911743558noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12075278.post-1156016957979599712006-08-19T12:49:00.000-07:002006-08-19T12:49:00.000-07:00I remember the groves, the strawberry fields too, ...I remember the groves, the strawberry fields too, that went to make room for housing.

I remember climbing up on the roof of a friend's home to see if we could still see Disneyland in spite of all the new building (we'd moved up from Laguna and were in GG); they dared me to dive into the pool from the roof.

I did.

I lived-God wasn't done with me yet either. After that day I chose to pay more attention to His grace.

Nice, and timely reminder:) Again, thank-you.

BiancaFox's Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09898478063725020924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12075278.post-1156007578123368912006-08-19T10:12:00.000-07:002006-08-19T10:12:00.000-07:00Wonderful and enjoyable. I managed to lower the three different security programs that guard this machine far enough so it would allow me to play the castpost.

Your friendly voice matches your pleasant appearance and is quite as I would have imagined it to sound.

I enjoyed being able to listen this time with eyes closed. This better allowed my tired synapses to fire a little easier and create a wonderful image of your young face full of excitement, exhillaration and terror as you swung high into the air.

Great post (as always).

J.Judas Hatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04365103842960526841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12075278.post-1155998872718651512006-08-19T07:47:00.000-07:002006-08-19T07:47:00.000-07:00That's a great analogy!!That's a great analogy!!Mark Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02164695468139415570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12075278.post-1155962296444055082006-08-18T21:38:00.000-07:002006-08-18T21:38:00.000-07:00Sounds terrifying and exhilarating, all at the sam...Sounds terrifying and exhilarating, all at the same time and spiritually speaking, very familiar.anniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14900362807680333144noreply@blogger.com
